Our Story

Hi, I’m Makenzi, founder of Howl + Ember.

This business was inspired by two things that have always been a huge part of my life: my love for creating warm, inviting spaces and my love for animals.

One of the biggest inspirations behind this brand was my dog, Boss. He wasn’t just a pet—he was family, my shadow, and one of the best parts of my everyday life. Losing him changed me, and it reminded me just how important it is to surround ourselves with things that bring comfort, preserve memories, and make us feel connected to the ones we love.

Howl + Ember was built from that idea: creating a space where cozy living meets dog mom culture, alternative style, and meaningful products that actually feel personal.
